Jason Colapietro founded Suede Labs AI in response to a specific failure: generative AI made creative output effectively free to produce while the systems that attach a work to its maker stayed stuck in the last century. Suede is his answer. It is a self-funded company, run without outside investors, that builds infrastructure rather than platforms: six live smart contracts on Base for registration, licensing, derivatives, groups, royalties and NFTs; VoicePrint, a patent-pending biometric authentication layer; Conduit, a runtime proxy for AI agent skills; and x402 payment rails so agents can pay for and be paid for work. He is a published author of three books, a vintage guitar and amplifier collector, and a songwriter who publishes as Johnny Suede. He splits his time between California and South Florida.
